Hi, Gwen! In your pic, the water looks clear. I used soda water, which does have some other ingredients, like sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, sodium bicarbonate, etc. My guess would be that the other ingredients are interfering with the reaction. I have the same problem with the settling.
